We are honoured to have been part of a communications campaign that won the African Excellence Award 2017 for outstanding PR and Communications in East Africa. The campaign, which we worked on in collaboration with international communications consultancy, Hill + Knowlton Strategies Kenya, and graphic designers, Brand Integrated, focused on the impact of trade facilitation interventions in East Africa.
Now in its sixth year, the African Excellence Awards recognizes and honours outstanding achievements in the field of Public Relations and Communications. Over 2,500 entries were received this year. The award was presented in Cape Town, South Africa.
Operating on a not-for-profit basis, TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) is an aid-for-trade organisation that was established to strengthen trade and markets in East Africa. Funded by development agencies in Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden, UK, and USA, TMEA’s aim is to grow East Africa’s prosperity through increased trade. TMEA works closely with East African Community (EAC) institutions, national governments, the private sector and civil society organisations.
The award-winning campaign, commissioned in 2016, sought to showcase results of various TradeMark East Africa projects – standards harmonization, elimination of Non-Tariff Barriers among others leveraging on digital communications and special signature events in the East Africa region.
Zilojo CEO, Joe Njeru, remarked, “This campaign illustrated our commitment to creatively illustrate important data and results in a way that would relay TMEA’s message in the most effective way. We are honoured that we achieved our client’s objectives and furthermore, received an international award for our efforts.”
